There you go fans. First Win for Team India today! Well done Viru and Virat on the batting side to make a big total of 370/4. On the bowling side Munaf did very well to take 4 wickets for 48 runs. Here is the score card if you are looking for details.

A Place for Supporters of Team India!!

So fans! Team India is less than 5 hours away from taking on Bangladesh to start their bid for the second world cup championship after 28 years. I was planning on sleeping for a few hours before waking up at 3 AM for the match, but I am so excited that can’t sleep. Instead, I decided to start this blog for Team India’s fans as a place to hang out during and after matches and to share our thoughts, comments about the matches, teams, players, chips, popcorns, samosas, chai and anything else! It’s almost 11 PM Friday night here on the east coast and we are now four and a half hours away from the first ball of 2011 Cricket World Cup.

This match is crucial for the team for a couple of reasons. The obvious one being the first match of the tournament – as the saying goes – well begun is half done! The second reason has to do with our showing in last world cup. Many of us still have those painful memories. It was Bangladesh that sent us packing! We don’t want it to be a repeat of 2007.

The team will be under pressure, for being one of the host nations and being the favorite to win it all. For the first time in more than a decade, anyone other than Australia is the pre-tournament favorite to win the World Cup. Hopefully this match will be an easy W for Team India. Go Team India!!
